Free US iPad What a Joke!
Hey why not fill in your information and give it a shot? What do you have to lose?
“Simply enter your ZIP code HERE to see if you qualify for a free iPad.”
Lately I have been hearing radio advertisements for freeusipad.com (Free US iPad). First of all, “Free US iPad” just sounds so plain and it couldn’t be any more original.
If you found this post by researching if Free US iPad is a scam or legit, I applaud you. I am glad some people out there can take the time to look something up before they decide to make a purchase or try something.
I suggest you don’t even waste your time with Free US iPad, and here’s why:
After submitting your precious email address on the site you are taken to a page to fill out your personal information (yikes). The way this system works is you must complete many different “offers” most of which you have to pay for in order to have a chance at getting a “free” iPad. So in essence you are not really getting a free iPad. Instead, you are paying for many products and getting roped into subscriptions that may be hard to get out of. Here is a quote taken from the site that explains it all:
In order to receive your gift you must: (1) Meet the eligibility requirements (2) complete the rewards bonus survey (3) complete a total of 13 Sponsor Offers as stated in the Gift Rules (4) not cancel your participation in more than a total of 2 Sponsor Offers within 30 days of any Sponsor Offer Sign-Up Date as outlined in the Gift Rules (the Cancellation Limit) and (5) follow the redemption instructions.
These types of websites are not a new thing, they have been around for awhile and most of them offer some type of free product like an Xbox, Wii, and PlayStation in order to appeal to the younger crowd which may not read into the Scam.
Yes, I believe Free US iPad is a SCAM; just because they are indirectly taking advantage of you instead of strait on doesn’t mean it’s right in any way. Therefore it is a Scam in my book; don’t waste your time or money.
UPDATE 7/17/2011:
I noticed today after returning from a long vacation, that the .net version of FreeUSiPad has turned into a content based blog. It is filled with random content about iPads. If you try Googling “free us ipad” you will not only see this post listed in the results, but you will see many other pages created on free hosting websites.
These seem to be fillers created by freeusipad to “take over” the search results. Probably to push my article, and possibly others against them down the Google results to keep from being seen. If you notice, all of these filler websites are linked together in the form of a link wheel. A link wheel is basically one strategy used to propel ones website up the Google results by connected several sites together that are run by the same person or company.
If you are looking for a good deal on an iPad, check out the refurbished and used section on Amazon. I compiled several links below to the different iPad models. You can still get an iPad cheaply, but use a reputable seller like Amazon.

Thanks for keepin it real. I hate those bullshit websites and was shocked they were able to get a radio spot.
can i repost this on my site and link it back to you guys?
I almost got hooked but I researched it. Southwest Airlines has the same garbage about getting 2 free tickets to anywhere by just answering a few simple questions. I barfed when I went to the website. Thanks for keeping it real. There is nothing free.
Thank you for this! the two airlines got me and i ended up “giving up” then i thought well what about the free us ipad. well i learned that was a scam! Thank you for keeping us young ones out of trouble – this blog really helped!
Lol you said “to appeal to the younger crowd who won’t check to see if it’s a scam,” I’m twelve, and I checked
I’m that 2% :p thanks for the advice
Thank you for the headsup. I went looking out of curiosity to see if this was legitiment or not. Thanks again!
i had a feeling it was a scam and thought it was going to turn out exactly as you described it. thanks for confirming
Yeah me too!
I did one of these surveys about 5 years ago and received a free macbook pro. I faithfully used a big spreadsheet to keep track of everything, and it took me about five hours a week for 7 weeks. Slowly but surely I completed all of the offers, and 2 months later my macbook showed up in the mail. I ended up spending about $200 to get my “free” macbook, but I immediately sold it on ebay for a gain of over $1600.
BUT — The program I did didn’t have any stipulations dictating how many offers I could cancel per 30 days. This program would be extremely difficult to complete because you “must not cancel your participation in more than a total of 2 Sponsor Offers within 30 days of any Sponsor Offer Sign-Up Date.” That means it’s possible to do, but it would take you over 7 months… if you were on the ball and very organized.
Hope this helps.
I appreciate your insight, it’s nice to hear someone was actually able to receive a product despite having to put some money forward. I just wish these things weren’t marketed as “free”, it’s unethical.
shit i put my email on the first page then continued on and decided to look it up first to see if it was real what do you think will happpend probably get a few spam email from the origional site? i didnt continue on with any of the other offers or put my email on any other pages
Possibly, I am sure you are fine, I wouldn’t worry about it.
am still not sure if its a scam how that get it on the radio
I did one of these surveys before and I put all my information in and about a week later tried to buy bus tickets to go on vacation my bank blocked my CC due to they said some one was trying to take out $90, $70, and $900 dollars will never fall for these stupid scams again THANKS!
thanks!
I can’t believe anyone would try signing up for this. How can you all be easily tricked? Of course it is a scam. Did you listen to the radio advertisement? It sounded so ghetto.
The commercial is so bad I would like to hear it again.
Thanks for the info. It is a big JOKE!! the advertisement said “free” an IPAD free? I thought NOT!
Thanks to those site were they offer free stuff my identity was stolen.now im having problems w the IRS every year getting my taxes.notting on this sites are free the commercial for he ipad sucked n never again ill fall for that crap…ive learn my lessons now im extra careful were i put my info into.
Thanx for the info! I knew it was a scam and websites like yours need to be shared with the youth who they are marketing this crap towards. I will share this website with everyone!!!!
There are plenty of things n this world that people can get for free. not everything has a price. Sadly though offers that seem to good to be true like this are usually just that, not true. for all those out there who didnt look this up like i did im sorry for your wasted efforts. The commercial did get some laughs outta me though.
aww man i areadly did them but i skiped all the ads but my dad said it a scam then you said it but now i’am like is it going to come or where u two right iam so lost don’t even know when it coming or if its coming plz don’t do this to me world got dam.
I knew this was a scam right off the bat, simply because no company is going to give out something worth hundreds of dollars for free. They may give out one or two out of the thousands of people that actually fall for it, but I guarantee you they will make at least 10 times as much money from all the stuff purchased from their site before that actually happens to make it feel legit. I’m thrilled someone chose to make a website warning people about this site, hopefully this will prevent many people from becoming victims of this scam.
I work @ a radio station. You can basically put any commercial on the radio (that doesn’t violate FCC rules) as long as you pay for it. Half of the commercials on the radio/TV are scams, but they pay for advertising. Just because someone puts it on the air doesn’t make it legit.
I went to the website and it wasn’t really there! It just said error.
will this site really give u an ipade
Did you read any of the comments? NO it will not give you an ipad. It WILL however, give you a complete headache and steal your identity if you’re not careful.
That was awsome dude u tell it how it is i was sighning up and something told me wait this is a scam so i reserched it and found ur blog thanks for savin my ass bro koudos
In addition to all the other obvious signs of this being a SCAM, my AVG blocked a “threat” when I went to the sight. If I don’t allow the threat, the page wont even load. Called it exploit type 1926. What a load of crap.
You’re awesome! I was pretty certain it was a scam but wanted to investigate just due to curiosity. I was afraid to go to the site directly though, suspicious as I was, so your post saved me time and kept me a little peace of mine. I hope that FreeUSipad site doesn’t succeed in pushing you down (typed their full name there just so it possibly ups your search rank or whatever).
I did commercials and this is the “sickest braindead” commercial I have ever heard! How can advertising companies let this crap out of their box? I had a good Laugh:) There is a idot born every day…
Yes. I concur, it’s a SCAM. No free iPad2.
When something is too good to be true, it is.
And when it is advertised as “Free” with a “hook” — to merely answer just a few short questions, or survey. “Free” becomes more costly and expensive, than just purchasing the iPad2.
Nevertheless, remember “buyer beware” whenever it is “Free” or too good to be true. Otherwise, it’s “hook, line, and sinker” and out of the fire, into the frying pan.
It definitely smells “FISHY”.
As for the radio ad, not violating the FCC, and any ad, true, or not, I contend it may be legal to air, but unethical for any venue, or median ie radio, news print, tv, cable, internet, billboards … to knowingly disseminate false advertisement, to lure and exploit people for profit.
Whatever happened to the new media, including advertisement, honoring and respecting their “pubic trust” with “Freedom of the Press” and “Freedom of Speech”.
Before you know it, an “honest politician” shall be deemed an “oxymoron”; with the truth lying with every word uttered.
And may be deemed an “obamination” to free speech, our constitutional rights, and liberties to pursue happiness and live “FREE”. So what is “Free”?
These days, apparently the “Bill” of Rights is left to interpretation by our debt holder China, the G20 oligarchy, and under the reign in our “Obama Nation” error (post America) what is “free”, and what is not?
The Edge
Thank you for your reply as you make very valid points. It is a shame how advertising has changed today. It all comes down to money in the end.
Someone please sue them for false advertisement.
You could probally win, since the radio advertisement said that the purpose of this was to give out ipads to people inorder to “test them”.
However, since this company holds no conection to apple, this is a complete lie.
BD. I am going to ask my Father in law whom is a lawyer. I googled it out of curiosity of which kind of scam it was. I’ll get back to you because that is technically false advertisement if they don’t really want people to test them.
At the very least I’d say small claims court because you don’t need a judge and jury, quicker, cheaper, and if you lose, you’re not out a bunch of money.
I wonder if the radio shows, Rush, etc, realize the amount of damage these scams do to their reputations? Or is it that they just don’t care. they’re rich, we’re not so milk the masses as always.
Sad.
It’s not like Rush Limbaugh himself is picking the ads that run during his show. I’m sure he has no idea which ads are running and furthermore, just because that ad runs during his show, doesn’t mean he is endorsing it.
I went on this site and put my email address in. I did not hit submit and then thought I had better see if there are any forums on the web about this site. I only just heard this ad on the radio in the past few weeks here in Michigan. It is completely false advertising and the ad is ridiculously stupid. When I went to close my browser it said “WAIT! Click cancel to get your free gift”. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A SCAM SITE! I’ve seen those messages before when I’ve closed other questionable websites.
I agree, what a sham. When this commercial comes on the radio I simply change the channel. If the radio station is that hungry for advertisement that they screw the listeners, they can lose this listener.
I’ve done a bunch of these types of websites. They were very popular 5 or 6 years ago. You MUST do your research before doing these sites. Some are scams, some are legit. I have gotten a few ipods, a laptop, some money via paypal, and an lcd monitor from these sites.
You need to be aware of the offers, what they entail, and what they can cost you. All I am saying is this site might not be a scam. I would look around and do more research before you make your decision.
had a feeling it was a scam and thought it was going to turn out exactly as you described it. thanks for confirming.
Thanks for posting this. I just can’t believe this stuff can be on the radio! Good thing I did a simple google search to avoid being scammed. I’ll definitely look into a refurbished one never even thought about it. Thanks a billion!!!
wow dude thanks a bunch man, i hate false advertising. on a radio they say “its so simple just go onto the website and get your free ipad2″ . i have to fill out a bunch of junk, if it was really simple, all id have to do is maybe fill out my name and the address but nope. thanks again man. i guess nothing really comes free
we need ipad bad we need one
Did anyone else notice that it is hard to navigate away from the site? When I closed it I got a pop up telling me that I had agreed to fill out a survey. I didn’t even put in an email address…. Then It opened a new window and tried to run a java script. I just forced firefox to quit and it seems like it is ok now.
Is there a place that this site can be reported to.
Like, for instance, reporting spam texts and phone calls to http://www.fcc.gov?
Also is there a way we can keep this at the top of Googles search results?
i heard this on the radio too and also found something similar on youtube saying free nintendo and it had the EXACT same “requirements”
Thank you for posting this! I keep hearing those damn commercials on the radio and I think “There is no way in hell they are giving out free ipads.” I’m glad I did my research. So thanks again!
thanks for the info almost fell for this myself but looked it up first and found your page, keep it up!
Thank you much man! I’m glad I came across you’re page. I’m not believed everything I’m told but you sound exactly as if all those other websites that say free offers would do the same and its so true! Thanks man!
Free gasoline, free groceries, and now free ipads…I slogged through their convoluted mess of terms and conditions. Nowhere in there do they actually say that they will send you an ipad upon meeting the requirements.
Now if the radio broadcasters could be held liable for thier complicity in these scams…where the hell is our FTC?!?
